Zinc Standing Seam Clad Extension

Grey Rose Architects are celebrating another planning approval this year for an unusual brief in the Charnwood Borough.

Both the undulating vaulted roof and elevations of the new extension are wrapped in zinc cladding - offering a high end, sleek finish.  The project incorporates an internal reconfiguration and an additional "CrossFit Box" home gym to the rear of the existing double garage.

Best architectural photograph of the year announced

A shot of a brick reservoir in London's Finsbury Park has been selected as the best architecture photograph of the year at the Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards 2016.

The image, taken by British photographer Matt Emmett, captures the brick arches of the covered reservoir, which was designed by the East London Waterworks Company in 1868.

A chapel by Peter Zumthor, a red brick gallery by Herzog & De Meuron and a São Paulo museum by Linda Bo Bardi were among the subjects of 20 images shortlisted for architecture photograph of the year.

Described by judges as a beautifully curated collection of buildings, Newport Street Gallery in south London is the 21st winner of the prestigious prize, awarded for the biggest contribution to British architecture in the last year."

A wonderful recognition for beautiful British architecture - very well deserved.
